Meditation came to me at a time in my life when I was at my wits end. I seriously couldn’t handle one more stressful event. I was sure it would send me over the edge. My level of anxiety was through the roof not to mention the things taking place outside of myself. I was a full-time student trying to get accepted into a RN program which demanded that my grades be exceptional due to the high volume of other student’s competing for acceptance into the same program.
A spouse to a partner experiencing constant pain and debility while his health rapidly deteriorated and the stress a relationship endures when facing the decline of a loved one. I was desperate to find something that could help me get through the day. My search brought me to meditation. I was sure the process could help but I had no idea how to get started. Even though I was exhausted, I couldn’t sleep at night for the thoughts that consumed me much less try to sit in silence for twenty minutes.
I read all I could find on the subject, then I spent lots of time and money trying to learn an effective method. The final outcome for me was taking all that I had read and all that I had learned from guides and mentors and shaping an simple and effective way to experience meditation and all the benefits it has to offer. It doesn’t have to be difficult or expensive. The ability is already in you, you just need to discover it.
The gratitude in my heart for this practice is what motivates me to share it with others. Meditation is useful in academics, decision making, life planning, stress management, pain control, obtaining joy and so much more. It was the first step in my transformation journey and truly saved my life and my spouse’s life as well.
I would like to personally discuss with you how this practice can improve the quality of your life.
Students and Meditation
Instead of cramming before that big test, take 20 minutes out and sit silently. Allow your brain to rest. Let go of stress and just breath. Now go take your test. I can attest that this absolutely works. I was always the first person to finish an exam, me walking out the door while others sat with perplexed faces trying to get through it. Before meditation I did what we all do, cram all night, then cram again before the test.
Meditation took the stress out of studying, and replaced the cram before the test with calm, which allowed my brain to easily remember what I had study the night before. If you’re a student meditation is a priceless tool that can guarantee academic success.
